sun on the frozen lake

Two weeks ago, we spent a weekend at our family cabin. Saturday was cool, grey, and gloomy. I walked in the woods, enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful views. The ground was still covered with snow for the most part, little islands of ground emerging from the snowy sea of white. When we got back to the cabin, we made sandwiches in the oven and drank some tea to warm us up. We lit the fireplace and cuddled with blankets to watch movies, then heated up the sauna and enjoyed the cozy warmth.

On Sunday, we woke up to the sun shining, feeling bright and rejuvenated. I walked along the shore of the lake and found this beautiful rocky beach, where I sat for a good while, just soaking up the warmth of the sun and taking these self-portraits. I still have many more photographs from the cabin to show you, but that can wait until next time.
